My sister and brother-in-law are recently returned from an Alaska cruise, which they enjoyed enormously. Except for the chilly weather. They had not packed appropriately.

They brought me a lovely, embroidered scarf, which currently is sitting on my dining table as a runner. Upon presenting it to me, they assured me that it was from Juneau, Alaska. Indeed, there is a tag inside the scarf that says "Juneau, Alaska".

There is a second tag that says "Made in Ecuador".

I was there years ago and bought a mask made of whalebone and polar bear fur. I hope they didn't use Ecuadorian polar bears - they're endangered!

If I saw that scarf, I would have put it back right on the shelf where it rested.

My grandmother was 1/2 American Indian, 'nuff said.

So when I go to Ireland in Sept., I will surely inspect what I buy.
