2. Did you enjoy the Complete Babylon 5 set?
(Or was that Tom Joad who bought it and posted here?)

8. Nope.
'twas I who bought the set and I loved ALL of it.

Even season 5, which is understandably going to be a bit of a downer after the dénûment of season 4... though I wish the telepath war subplot was carried to its conclusion and not dropped. We needed the Bester/Garibaldi resolution too.

Nice to see Tron (and Scarecrow) as Capt. Sheridan... His wife (Melissa Gilbert!!) in the season 3 finale too. GREAT stuff... season 3 is definitely my fave...

10. Great! I can't imagine getting it all at your leisure.
Gobbling it all up at the rate you set, not the stations... I agree, season 3 was the best. And there is a 3-book set on the fate of Bester, including the origin of the Psy Corps. See Ebay; it's a decade out of print. Or see if RetroLounge has them, he's just opened up a used book store.

You do know about the brand-new straight-to-DVD episodes, right? You've been off the board for a bit so I don't know if you'd seen it:

Cheers!

3. Which laserdisc player do you have?
I used to have a Pioneer CLD-3080 and absolutely loved it.

7. RCA...
From best Buy. They cheated out of their own extended warranty/no-lemon policy as well; I had to keep bringing it in because the player wouldn't automatically play the 2nd side -- they kept repairing it for free, but claimed it was only a "cleaning", which was bollocks as an excuse.

They've come through with their warranty on other issues and, let's face it, I got the unit in 1998 when laserdisc players were nearly impossible to get.

The unit still works, and still flips to side B 98% of the time.

4. My laser disk player is broken and can't be fixed or replaced.
Nobody makes laser disk players anymore. The repair shops that I have called won't touch them. Mine is broken, and I have no way to watch my laser disks. They sit on a shelf and gather dust. Sigh.

9. Pioneer is one of the best LD brands...
Thanks for looking into that for him, jasonc! :yourock:

(Just get a guarantee from the seller after the purchase... though chances are there'd be no problems, especially from anyone with a high positive rating.)

17. Well, I won't deny Sherlock has some instantly accessible features...
It just depends on how frequently one needs them. :)
