OMFG!!!!!!!!! This is the best FRICKING invention ever - my USB Turntable
WOWZA WOWZA WOWZA

DID I SAY OMFG!!!!

This thing took an entire 20 minutes to set-up and it was so fricking easy George W. Bush might even be able to set the thing up by himself (perhaps with Cheney supervising).

The downside is it will take forever to load up all of my albums but if I can get some of the better ones uploaded it'll be so fricking cool

Right now I'm doing the 3-album set "Europe '72" from the Grateful Dead.

Oh LORDY this is amazing!!

What's great is I can also just play my records thru my computer, which to be honest, has the best speaker system out there (although I might have to update once I move)

4. This one here
http://www.amazon.com/Ion-iTTUSB-Turntable-USB-Record/dp/B000BUEMOO

It had a good rating from folks who buy it. I'm sure there are really expensive techno ones out there but this one does a pretty good job and you can clean up some of the background noise with it.

Plus I got free 2 day shipping from Amazon

9. It's a long process to transfer but so worth it
I have a co-worker with an album he can't find anywhere on CD. I'm gonna upload it for him.

One trick if you don't feel like breaking the uploaded album down into individual songs is that you just save the album all as one MP3. Then you can just listen to the entire album in one setting. Of course the downside is if you want to hear a specific song you can't go right to it

16. Yes - the software is called Audacity
although there is a demo to another program that I believe can fine tune it even more, but the Audacity is working easy enough for me

8. The album I uploaded was scratchy and it was so easy to remove the background noise
Basically when you upload the album you upload the whole thing as one giant size file. Then you have to break it down into the songs (or just leave the whole album as a unit). Export it to MP3 and you're done.

But wait - what about all that hissing background noise?

It was so easy to clean up - you find a space between 2 songs and do a noise recording then you can go back to the song and clean out the noise. I'm replaying Cumberland Blues and it sounds like I downloaded it off the net

With an older all-in-one radio/cassette player/turntable and Audacity.

I even put a double album of polkas on to CD that way, for my parents.

Was it Myron Floren or Frank Yankovic

Does it scare the bejesus out of you that such a Led Zeppelin fan knows the biggest 2 names in Polka

20. For those with a turntable already (and a sound card)
All you need is a recording lead (cable) and some free software.

21. Two questions...
1. Does it come with the needle? The Amazon ad for it says a cartridge is included, but does that include the stylus itself?

2. Did you use it with a Mac?

Thanks

Oh, and do you like the ability to get rid of pops and crackles?
