This supercell gets really interesting about halfway down. Don't miss the desktop wallpaper section.

2. I thought that was going to be a pic where the people thought there was an angel in the cloud.
And some here thought it looked like a cat.

Great pics though.

4. Although nature is ethically neutral, there is no mistaking the message "leave, now"
in those clouds. I haven't lived in the midwest for two decades, so it's easy to forget when threat fills half the horizon.

3. wow, that made me shiver
I don't think I could live somewhere in the mid-west and deal with that all the time. I grew up in the mountains and that is way too much horizon for me. I've only been caught in a tornado once, and I was at work. It was rather scary but no damage was done to the business. Ironically, it also came very close to hitting the trailer I was living in, but it picked up right before it hit and disipated. The Dairy farm next door lost one of their sheds where they kept all their trucks and equipment though, it sucked off all the aluminum off of the roof and dropped it in the field across the street as the storm died out, it looked like a plane had crashed over there or something.

Thanks for posting those amazing pics.

14. Pretty spectacular, huh?
I wouldn't want to be anywhere in the path of some of the gorgeous storms I've seen in Nebraska, Oklahoma and Kansas, but I'm a big fan of watching from a (large) distance. :)

Hi, Frank! :hi:

24. I've never seen clouds like those, they're probably something
you can see only on the Great Plains.

19. Saw those in Colorado a couple years ago.
Except they were a VERY ominous grey-brown. Really spectacular--and the eventual double rainbow was no slouch either!

Needless to say, I forgot my camera.
