What gives you joy and what are you grateful for?
I love sitting on the porch, listening to the birds sing and the tree-frogs talk to each other. I love my garden and my friends(on line friends count and are so dear), these things bring me joy and I am grateful for them. :loveya:

2. I love observing my pets and their individual quirks

Right now i have one cat that loves to squat in a shoebox on the couch. Another that insists on a drink from the faucet when I get up. And the other wails for a treat the moment I get up, every single morning.

Then there is the dog that follows me like a shadow. He jumps and squeals with glee the moment I get home from work.

Goofy pets, that what I like.

3. What brings me joy:
The thought of my first grandchild, due in January. My daughter-in-law has now passed the point where she miscarried the first time, so we're all breathing a sigh of hope.

I am grateful (and in awe of) all the friends that I do have here on DU. They've been a source of strength and comfort to me.

4. Natural things, birds singing, cicadas, katydids, and crickets chirping.

Birds on the wing, sunrises, sunsets.

My cat coming to meet me when I get home from work.

My 12-step meetings.

7. I'm trying to learn how to be grateful for EVERYTHING
including problems and challenges. While I do enjoy an uneventful week or month every now and then, I think that the challenges in life are half of what makes us feel alive. One can't really appreciate joy without sadness, success without struggle.

As for joy: family, music and food.

8. Good topic to take my mind off of a strange morning
(I had very bizarre nightmares so I'm happy to focus on good stuff!)

What brings me joy is spending time with my loved ones: my husband, my friends, my nieces and nephews, my parents.

I am grateful for the help I needed to get through very difficult times, like losing my job and having a ruptured disc in my spine. Those were the worst times in my life and I am grateful for the love and support I needed to make it through them.

9. Spending time with my friends and family
My pets, and the unconditional love they have for me (unconditional love is difficult, if not impossible, to find in a human). Those things give me joy.

I am grateful that, while I am far from being rich, I can pay my bills and put food on my table. My life will never be as hard as it is for the truly poor in this world.
