I forgot to buy milk.

It's about 150 degrees outside. I stopped off for bread, cheese, and a beverage when I picked up my son this morning, but I forgot milk. There's about half an inch of milk left in the carton.

I do have to go out in half an hour and pick my daughter up from Girl Scout day camp, so I guess we'll stop for milk. Just what I wanted. An extra stop, with both kids, in unbearable heat.

Pick up a treat, too. Ice cream or something. Then the milk becomes like an afterthought and they'll never realize that they're actually at the store as the result of an initial screw-up, AND they'll thank you and think you're a great mom and THAT will take the sting out of the heat and the extra stop.
