Voting Confession

You know how I always gripe about people voting third party or wasting their votes? Once, when I was in my 20s and felt discouraged and that no one was any different than anyone else, I wrote in Julie Newmar's name for President just because I thought it was funny. That's the only vote I have ever wasted and I am 53. Forgive me...<g>

1. I can understand why...

Newmar invented and marketed her own brand of pantyhose, "Nudemar," in the 1970s & 1980s. She holds three U.S. patents: 3,914,799 and 4,003,094 for "Pantyhose with shaping band for Cheeky derriere relief" and 3,935,865 for "Brassiere." After further education at UCLA in the early 1980s, Newmar began investing in Los Angeles real estate. As an article about the actress has noted, "Newmar is partly responsible for improving the Los Angeles neighborhood at La Brea Avenue and Beverly Boulevard."<2>

:rofl: I LOVE Get Smart. I actually have a very cool NASA story about Get Smart. I was born and raised near NASA. (I left home at 15 but up until then...near NASA.) It was the place we took visiting relatives, etc. I have been there 100s of times. Anyway, I was about 9 and my cousin Tizzy was 8 and Get Smart was THE show on tv. We were running around the NASA cafeteria playing and talking in our shoe, like they did on Get Smart. Suddenly there were three men in suits peering down at us. One was Buzz Aldrin, right on his name tag...Buzz Aldrin...*sigh* He slipped off his loafer and said, into his shoe: "Hello little girls." I'm 53 and that is still one of the highlights of my life. It thrilled our mothers too. Astronauts were the studs of that era.
