Anybody here make homemade granola? |
|
I am a junkie for the Bear Naked granola but at $5 for a 12 oz. bag, it is quite an expensive habit. Also, I am trying to get the little one to eat it too, and she likes the chocolate version of the Bear Naked - again $5 a bag.
Does anyone have any recipes to share?

4. An oldie, but goodie recipe |
|
I have made this since 1973 :-).
6 c. rolled oats 1 c. sesame seeds 1 c. sunflower seeds 1 c. powdered milk 1 c. wheat germ 1 c. raisins (or dried cranberries, or other dried fruit) 1 c. vegetable oil 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. honey
Mix all the ingredients together in the largest bowl you have. Spread out on baking sheets and bake in a 250 F. oven until crisp. Stir occasionally.
Cool and transfer to an airtight container.
You can vary the amounts and the ingredients. It all turns out good :-).
If you use the powdered milk, you can just put water in the bowl with the granola. I have taken this backpacking many, many times.

10. I do and someone already mentioned Alton Brown's recipe |
|
my recipe has drifted from that but that is what I started with. Go with that and adjust to taste.
