Chocolate with stuff?

Chocolate by itself, or with a flavor added?

And can I have some, PLEEEEEEEASE?

(Yes, I know that cat's can't have chocolate, but this ThomCat certainly can. :9)

64. Oh yes yes yes
But not Hershey's, goodness. I lived in Geneva for three years, so Hershey's is sacrilege. I don't think they are even allowed to sell it there; Cadbury's is also banned unless it has been relabeled "chocolate product"!

Now, there is a brand of Swiss chocolate, called Chocolat Suisse, that is 72% noir and has cocoa nibs. It's truly the most wonderful chocolate I've ever had, and I consumed an obscene amount of chocolate living in Switzerland. Here's a photo:

*Sigh. I've recently run out from my most recent chocolate run so am feeling rather bereft!

9. Dark chocolate...
with almonds is best.

But really, any kind of chocolate is good. As long as it's not bad. You know what I mean, the cheap nasty kind.

We once got these unbelievably good Belgian chocolates in the office as a gift for everyone. I had the hardest time not hoarding them. I sort of wish I had, actually. :P

Chocolate can absolutely go stale, and most of what you find is the store usually is.

There's very few things in life better than fresh chocolate. :9

I used to have some really good Belgian chocolate sent to me by the case. You couldn't find it in the US, and you could only get it shipped if you bought at least 1 case. Oh, it was worth it. :7

24. You can get excellent Belgian chocolate at Trader Joe's
It's the real thing, imported, no preservatives. Best I've had outside of Brussels. Comes in bittersweet (dark) and milk. Or bittersweet with almonds, but IMHO that dilutes the pure essence of The Chocolate.

500g bar is $2.99. Each square is half an ounce. *swoon*

Edited on Wed Jul-18-07 01:01 PM by supernova
really runs my motor. Usually hazelnuts, but pecans and almonds are nice too. :9

edit: I've gotten to appreciate the 70-75% cocoa. I find that I need much less of it to satisify my craving than regular milk chocolate.

I've also made truffles and chcolate covered nuts so that I don't have to buy them. It's a pretty economical dessert that way.

72. Dark.
I tend to buy "Green and Black's" 70%. Their chocolate is organic and fair-trade (indeed they were the first people ever to hold a U.K. fair-trade mark), and most importantly damn gorgeous.

I rarely eat chocolate, but that's what I tend to go for when I do.

73. I like pure milk chocolate.
I haven't eaten much of it lately ... doctor's suggestion, but I cheat mostly at desert time.

I get a chocolate fix by drinking green and black's cocoa powder in my coffee every morning. http://www.greenandblacks.com/us/productdetails.php?pageid=50&cid=19&pid=72

79. We're not snobs.
We just like chocolate,

and milk chocolate is usually only 10% chocolate.

81. Suchard milk chocolate from Switzerland.
I don't know if you can get it here in the US. I think it was bought by Cadbury as part of a conglomerate.

Best damn chocolate I ever had.
