Deodorant Stones?
Hey, I ordered one because I'd heard lots of good things, and heard about possible health issues with regular deodorants (not to mention they don't work for shit as antiperspirants on me). What have been your experiences? Do they work as antiperspirants?

1. How do you get them to stay in your pits?

4. Seriously tho...
I've heard they work okay. I've never tried one, but, I know several people who swear by them.

6. I notice you use the words deodorant and anti-perspirant interchangeably.
They're not the same thing, and they work differently. I have much better success with anti-perspirants, but only with specific brands and varieties. I haven't had success with the rocks myself.

8. I'm actaully not. However, they advertise regular deoderants as being both that and antiperspirants
I was curious if these stones had any antiperspirant value.

10. I don't think any of the natural 'deodorants' are antiperspirants
there is an aluminum product in antiperspirants that makes people not sweat. Some people think it might be linked to breast cancer but it's never been proven. I can use them in the winter time but in the summer I use a regular antiperspirant and try to be sparing with it.

11. i've tried them and don't like them
days 1 through 3 are fine, but then i start to experience pit irritation :-( and decreased effectiveness.

i've tried the stones, the distillations of what's in the stones, and many other deodorants, looking for a non-aluminum substitute to use on weekends and vacations. (my DNA in the pit and sweat dept came from Dad... so i must use anti-perspirant during the week)

i DID find two deodorant products that work for me:

best one is:
Wysong Catalyst Dry Deodorant
http://www.wysong.net/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=WOTTPWS&Product_Code=DR063&Category_Code=SKIN&Product_Count=1

this has mineral salts in it, so similar concept to the stone and its liquid derivatives. but it feels very gentle and doesn't irritate. in powder form.

second best is:
Jason Aloe Vera Deodorant Roll-On
http://www.jason-natural.com/products/deodorants.php

not powerful enough for real life, but just fine on the weekends. liquid form.

IMHO, YMMV, LS/MFT.
