I'm Finally Back In My Apartment - What Did I Miss?
I was last able to post 7/9, when I came home to find my apartment flooded. Over 250 gallons of water was pumped out, all my stuff put in the carport(!), the carpet ripped out, the walls dried, a new floor put in while I spent a week at a ... well, dry hotel with the cats (who just loved being in a flooded apartment, then being around all the noise while it was being pumped out, then being moved to and from the hotel ... they finally came out of the closet).

The Tuesday after I came home to find my place flooded, I had a three-root root canal.

The Thursday after I came home to find my place flooded, I came down with (yet another) kidney infection, and I'll find out tomorrow if I have to have a PICC line put in (again) to treat it.

On the plus side, I don't have carpet any more and I have a new bed.

So, what's new here?

3. let's see...
Cheney had another hunting accident but this time only shot himself in the face. The grief of it finally broke the last bit of W's sanity and he revealed all their nasty dirty secrets...all the way from his dad being the real lone gunman to Rove being Condi's bottom. Yeah, you didn't miss much.

Sounds like you've had a hell of a Toad's wild ride though. I hope things look up for you soon

4. I Had Access To TV!
I just wondered what cornflake-breaded breast-feeding smoking diaper-wearing Olive Garden did-you-get-my-PM fest I missed here.

Thanks for the good wishes. I'm afraid to think what will go wrong next.

7. The Bed Is GREAT! And Dry!
The cats have gotten out from under it and up on top of it. I get to sleep there, too. Sometimes.

8. I Had A Similar Car
I drove a 1986 Pontiac 6000LE 4 cylinder 'Iron Deuce' for 10 years until the head gasket blew and my mechanic begged me not to fix it. It got great mileage. I've got a much newer car with a bigger engine ... and a tank of gas lasts me a month, but I don't have a 150 mile commute.

10. Well, once I move a tank should last two weeks...
instead of half a week.

My ex is talking about moving up there as well, with her boyfriend, to take advantage of the cheaper rents and easier commute. That would put me and my son in very close proximity, so I might be able to make a tank last for a month as well! :-)
