Note to Barry Bonds fans and foes |

He just hit his second homer of the day against the Cubs. That makes 753.

The biggest cheat in baseball.
Say what you will but at least Pete Rose earned his record. I think anyone caught using steriods should be banned from the sport

I think Canseco, McGwire, Bonds, and anyone else who uses steriods should get their HOF records revoked and be booted from baseball.

4. what are his odds of breaking the record in Milwaukee? |

Edited on Thu Jul-19-07 04:12 PM by AllegroRondo
this weekend?
And would all the Hank Aaron fans be pissed about it? Hank is one of only 4 people to have their number retired with the Brewers.

And Saturday and Sunday's games are gonna be on broadcast teevee here — probably for that reason, since they weren't originally on the broadcast schedule.
Would it matter to Bonds or his fans or the Giants, though, if Milwaukee booed the living shit out of him?
It's doubly interesting considering Bud Selig is the Brewers' former owner and still lives in Milwaukee.

Well, I guess his slump has ended. Are you still planning to catch the Cubs vs Giants at Pac-Bell AT&T park in Aug?

Haven't talked with my BIL about it lately.
It's not like we have to decide now, anyway. We could probably get walk-up tickets for a Wednesday day game against Chicago.
Oh — the Cubs won anyway, 9-8. Took the series, three out of four.

I wish there were a scientific way to determine how many homers he has without help. Same for Sosa, McGwire et al.

for steroid use?
What are the rules regarding steroid use in MLB?

20. Testing for steroids wasn't MLB policy until 2005 |
|
By that time, the BALCO scandal had broken and Bonds had quite likely put away his needles and pills.
Players who test positive once are suspended for 50 games, 100 games for a second offense. Anyone who tests positive three times will be banned for life. Those penalties went into effect after the 2005 season.
If your point is the tired old "But it hasn't been proven that Bonds took steroids," that's true — it hasn't. There's only grand jury and other testimony that says he did, plus his obvious physical changes, which include his head getting bigger. (That's not a metaphor. His head is actually larger than it was a few years ago.)

I didn't really have an argument or a point to make. I've just heard his stats are steroid assisted, and also that he hadn't been caught (rough paraphrase for both) so since the topic was raised I thought I would inquire for a little bit more information. I didn't know what was true, what was speculative, what was vindictive.
His head got bigger? That sounds scary. Better him than me. :scared:
Thanks again. :pals:
