but I bet there isn't a site on earth that could serve her that fast. She could download a shit load of things at once, though.
If she had a BitTorrent download going with a brazillion seeds, that's about the only way she could max it out I can think of.
My ISP recently upgraded my service from 10Mb/s to 20Mb/s. The stupid thing is, my router only has a 10Mb/s ethernet connection on the WAN port, so I can't see any of it.

bought it for bugger all second hand off a friend. It's served well for the price I paid for it.
Originally I just plugged my PC straight into the modem. I can do that without fear since I use Linux. :)

I guess you could do that again if you REALLY want 20 Mbps.

"She's a brand-new Internet user," Lothberg said by phone from California, where he lives. "She didn't even have a computer before."
His mother isn't exactly making the most of her high-speed connection. She only uses it to read Web-based newspapers. :banghead:

8. I'm just wondering what the OS would do |
|
throttle the download down to how fast it can write? I don't think I know of any systems that do that

9. Well, I would imagine that whatever site she reads from |
|
probably doesn't have a 40 Gbit connection, and probably delivers data at a rate that the OS can actually handle.
