Having Trouble With itunes

I am not able to subscribe to podcasts or buy things from itunes. Does anyone know what is happening and how it can be fixed? I want to download some PTI podcasts but the subscribe button is not highlighted. I checked with other podcasts and other music and everthing was the same. What if anything can I do the be able to download podcasts and music. I have already set up an account and read the help note about why I cannot subscribe to podcasts. Since I am unable to download anything I think the help note does not apply to me. Can someone help?

1. What happens

when you go to the podcast section & click on a selection? Do you see the 'Get Episode' option?

2. Are you signed in correctly?

I suggest contacting iTunes, if your account isn't working properly. Also, back up all of your music.

3. Problem Solved

From the first time I could not download podcasts I thought the problem might be that I did not have the itunes for set as the default player to download certain files. After going to the online help for itunes I decided to go back and see if I needed to change the setting of the itunes player. It was not exactly what I thought, but when I went into the preferences section I realize that I did not have the itunes player set to download podcasts and some other files. I was able to download an episode of PTI and subscribed to the show.
