Several times a day, a child has been screaming.....

....in a house on the other side of the block. I can hear it through my back windows. Screaming, sobbing, hysterical. I honestly didn't even know a child lived over there -- never heard it before. I have been worried about the little tyke.

Finally, today, I decided that someone needed to at least ask about the child, just in case something was wrong.

So I mustered up my nerve and went to a neighbor whose yard abuts the one where the child lives.

Guess what? The tyke is being weaned off his pacifier this week.
