Anyone ever received a request from a conservative you are debating online to "show more emotion?"
So I joined a conservative online forum, where they were bullshitting about presidential candidates. I thought that was silly, so I immediately brought up the all-night filibuster, which turned things to Iraq. They wanted to rehash the old Saddam/WMD/Al Qaeda arguments, so I let 'em have it, with links. Then one of them told me he didn't want links, he wanted to talk and for me to show more emotion. I told him that I would not be goaded into letting loose my righteous anger so I could be labeled a "blame America firster" or dimissed as having "Bush derangement syndrome." Then, then to goad him in return, I continued posting links, when what I really wanted to say was, "yes, reality does have a well-known liberal bias. conservatives just can't handle that," because they were constantly harping on "liberal media bias." I told them to prove that my sources got it wrong, which of course, they couldn't.

It was like talking to those Japanese soldiers who were still hiding in the caves years after WWII was over, and trying to convince them that the war was over. They still didn't get it that the debate is pretty much over, and they've lost.
