To my next door neighbor: YES YOU DUMBASS 6AM IS TOO EARLY TO BE BLASTING YOUR CAR RADIO
Edited on Fri Jul-20-07 09:37 AM by LynneSin
I had to get that out of my system since I was actually much politer to him in person.

I didn't get to bed until midnight and I was hoping to get 7-8 hours of blissful sleep.

Then at 6am I'm blasted out of my deep slumber with this loud booming music. Mind you, it wasn't bad music - mainly some old-school funk and motown classics - but I look at my alarm clock and it's 5:56am in the morning and this dumbass is blaring his radio at top volume.

So finally I drag my ass out of bed around 7:30 am and I'm walking over to my co-worker's house (we're carpooling). I pass by the guy with the loud radio. This wasn't some punk-ass kid with a boomcar. This was some older gentlemen with a nicely detailed SUV (not a gas guzzler one). So I ask the guy why he was playing his radio so loudly this early in the morning. I'm even polite enough to say that it was good music he was playing but it was just way to early in the morning.

The dumbass looks back at me and says "I didn't think I was starting too early in the morning - sorry about that"

GRRRRR!!!!!

1. He didn't think 6 a.m. was too early?
Dumbass doesn't begin to cover it.

:eyes:

At the crack of ass this morning I was treated to a very animated conversation about dog poop right outside my window. Do people think because they're outside that I can't hear them or something? If my cat had some poop in his litter box I would've whipped it out the window at them. No, I wouldn't have, but I would've wanted to do it.

3. you could have called out
"hey, my cat just took a dump in his/her litter box. Do you all want to hear about it? No? Then kindly keep your dog poop discussion down to a whisper!"

Just one morning I would love to say that to the dog walkers on my block who do the same thing at 6:00 in the morning. STFU people!!!!

2. send him a copy of your town's noise ordinance
Most towns clearly state that loud music or machinery (lawn mowers & such) cannot be operated before 8:00 on weekdays and sometimes it's later on weekends.
Just because he's an early bird doesn't mean he has to impose his schedule on the whole neighborhood.

4. Sounds like my neighbors but they seem to prefer

middle of the night or late at night. I rang their bell and knocked Wednesday night because I had to go to work the next morning but they thought practicing their bongo drum and bass guitar was a great idea at 11:00 at night, playing along to some loud music. No answer, not sure if they didn't care or couldn't hear it. It was so loud outside I could probably have heard it standing on a porch across the street. So I called the police (2nd time in a month) and we both knocked since the noise had died down by then. He apologized and said "We're done." So maybe now he understands that I sleep at night (of course people have different schedules, such as the officer who showed up) so they won't blast at 2:00 or 4:00 am which they also seem to enjoy.

I was expecting some 19 year old to answer but this guy looked about 40. That was surprising. Does someone older than me need an instruction manual on courtesy so they won't have band practice in a condo late at night? I also mentioned to the officer about the high number of rotating vehicles that are around and I wasn't sure who even lived there. The fact that if I'm home sick they also blast throughout the day for 10-30 minute periods makes me wonder if anyone there is employed (legally anyway). It used to sound like a stereo but now they seem to have instruments. And when I get home from work I hardly hear anything and then they start being noisy at like 9:30 or so. Who thinks they sell drugs?

Edit: I think the same thing as your title but was able to restrain myself in person. Hard isn't it. Especially when you're lying in bed thinking "You stupid fucking asshole I'm employed unlike you apparently you fucking loser!"

5. Must have been the morning for noise.
I woke up to noise at 6:30 this morning. I didn't determine what it was until 6:45 when I heard BOOM/CRASH and rushed to the window and saw that construction workers were unloading their backhoe. By 6:55 all I could hear was that high pitched WHIRRRRRRRRRR from a concrete saw.

Sorry your neighbor is so inconsiderate. Since you had the opportunity to mention the noise to him, hopefully he'll think about other people the next time.

7. Even out here in the sticks I have to deal with loud assholes
The guy who lives in the neighboring cabin is a religious nut/Sunday School teacher who watches what sounds like sports in the middle of the night on his tv (I assume the games are taped because we don't get cable here).

Anyway, it will be 2 in the morning and I'll be jerked out of a sound sleep by the sound of him yelling at the top of his lungs - a stream of curses that almost literally turn the air blue.

If it wasn't 2 am it would be funny. :eyes:
