Fuck!!!! I just found out my mom has been in the hospital nearly 2 weeks!

No one told me. I have 4 siblings, and no one let me know. I got an email from one of my BIL's this morning, saying that mom "is still in the hospital". Just talked to one of my sister's MIL's, so said mom has been in for nearly 2 weeks, and may need to go to a care center for awhile.

Now I'm angry, but even more, I'm scared.

If you could spare some good vibes for my mom, I would appreciate it.

I am sorry that they felt the need to leave you out. That really sucks. My family did that to me when my dad had his last (he's had 4) heartache. I didn't know until he was out of the hospital.

People may think they are sparing you (or maybe sparing themselves) some pain but in reality it is unfair and just not right.

Yeah, it wasn't done out of malice. My sister said that since it was the same as the last time mom was hospitalized, she didn't think to call. I told her that it was important for me to be kept in the loop, so she promised she'd always call from now on.

My sister tried to pull the same stunt when my father was admitted to intensive care!
Because she had medical permission(?) legally to make decisions, she thought she was
'in charge' and us 'plebian's' and that we were also under her direction. NOT!

I'm not really mad any more. I talked to my sister, and told her that it was important for me to be kept in the loop. Mom has a recurring condition that at times necessitates she be hospitalized, and given IV antibiotics. It's not life threatening, but still, I want to know.

He died from Legionaries Disease almost two weeks later. :(

She had and has a lot of nerve. She's my 2nd oldest sister.

My oldest sister was pissed off, as were we all.

Your story reminds me of Christmas 1995, when my brother was lying near death and nobody told me. He pulled through, but it was touch-and-go for weeks. The excuse I got: "We didn't want to worry you." WTF?
