So... I haven't worked for 7 years.
Well, nearly 7 years. I left my career in 2000 to stay at home with my kids (one wasn't dealing well with daycare).

I stopped in to see my old co-workers yesterday, and mentioned that I was thinking about returning to the work force. Today, one of them sent me a link to a job opening in their department. The job opened yesterday. It is essentially the exact same job I had 7 years ago, with the exception of being one pay grade higher.

I guess I'm going to apply. Hold me. :scared:

3. If I may be so bold
If you stayed at home with your kids for the past seven years you HAVE worked. And good for you in whichever fork in the road you choose to take.

8. True!
I've also been volunteering for a few years, so at least my organizational skills are there.

9. And I even like the co-workers.
It'd be sweet. My kids are old enough now to handle my working a full time job.

5. Okay
give it a try apply. Perhaps it is time to get back out there. The income will be good but also the change in your life just might be beneficial as well.

12. Kind afraid that you have been "institutionalized"???
I get the same feeling having been at this job for 6 years now-by far the longest I have ever worked at one place.
