As much as I am thankful to have a job I am willing to give it up for my sanity.
I am thankful to have a job. 3 years ago I was sending resumes all over the city waiting and praying for work. The way that I got this job was through a temp agency. I worked hard , the supervisor told me to apply and I did. And I got hired. I quickly realized that the powers that be are not going to teach me anything , so I ended up learning the computer system myself. So good that 6 months after I had began working there , I was already a "lead". I was in the chain command right behind the trainers->managers->senior managers and etc. I learned everything on my own so I posted for the job that I have now. I decided to post for this job in a higher grade level because it was the place where I could use what I know ... so I thought. I took this job very seriously when I applied for it. I get there , and the people already there don't know shit. I felt dumbfounded when they were asking me questions. My manager who I sort of don't like/but put up with because he can't help he's mean told me before he got on my bad side that "we would miss him now that we are gone". And that is so true. I am willing to start right back in the department that I came from because I can't take this shit anymore - at least I was treated like an equal ...

I am so tired of going to meetings and getting the shitface anytime I bring up something important work related while everybody else can joke about stupid shit for 40 minutes that is totally unrelated to work. The things we need to talk about we don't. Our person in charge wants us to listen to their bullshit day in and day out and I am tired of it. But if I say something , oh its not worth it. Fuck that. I am going to speak my mind on Monday. I am tired of being treated like a fucking kindergartener just because some people can't figure out things for them damnselves . If I can tie my damn shoes , bend over and do the same . Everyone works differently , as long as I get my work done leave me the fuck alone. I am not getting paid to kill myself and I am not kissing ass either. Managers come and go but the work and the computer information stays the damn same. Why the hell should I have to change the way I work just because someone else can't get with the program ? If you are good enough to get the job then you are good enough to do the job and get the job done .

And I am so sick of my sarcastic new co-workers making comments to me with chips on their shoulders. Saying that they feel sorry for me because of the predominantly black high school that I went to , hell I graduated with honors and 95% of my graduating class got academic honors ,ok ? SOme of them barely even graduated - fuck them . And when I was joking one night when are checks were being passed out that everybody loves money , the same asshole goes "I don't live paycheck to paycheck. " and I said to him "I guess not since you work 2 damn jobs. If you don't need the money so bad why the hell do you need two jobs , huh ? Because you need it. You don't do it for your health because who the hell wants to work 12 hours a day ? Only because you need it." I told one woman that I am going back to school in January because I don't see myself working here for 10 years getting no where and its just not me and I guess I must have pissed them off because one guy said "what do you think , you're better than us ?" - its ok for one woman to go to school (she is white) and if I go back to school (I am black) its because I am being snobbish. I am so sick of this. I don't mean to bring in race but I work my ass off everyday and they act like these people lay golden ass out of their asses when they fuck up every night , but does our person in charge (he is black but thinks the rest of us who are black are always clowning around and we are'nt) ever tell them that they are making mistakes ? Hell no. Who is tired of fixing their mistakes on the reports they messed up ? Me . Fuck this. If you want me to fix stuff , pay me more and treat me equal with respect like everybody else. I hate this shit.

I want to go off so bad in the meetings but I just pray and bite my tongue. Don't hassle one group and not the other one.

And today one of my favorite managers who I did'nt even work for but he was always nice and kind and respectful resigned because of the bullshit going on at our company. He worked in another department but I remember having to call his office all the time when I was a lead in my old department. All the good people who know what they are doing are leaving ... I might as well follow. I refuse to kiss ass to get to the top.

I get so sick of when something needs to get done , I get called but the idiots get praised. And I never get praise for fixing shit. WTFever.

1. Things like this go on all the time
in large companies. Telling off the dumbasses does absolutely no good, and really doesn't even make you feel better. So keep those comments to yourself, do your job as well as you can, and keep an eye open for something else, either in another department or another company. If you plan on going back to school, see if your employer is willing to help pay for that. Use the job to accomplish your own goals, and you will not feel so frustrated.

6. Thank you .
I will keep my thoughts to myself because they don't want to anything but piss me off to have their fun. I think my job has tuition reimbursement so I will look into that . Thanks for the words.

2. Thoughts
FWIW, when I talk about going back to school or act like my true, smart self, I get accused of throwing my education around and/or thinking I'm better than everyone, and I'm white. I know if I were a guy, though, I'd be "ambitious and talented, with leadership potential." Double standards make me :puke:

Best of luck moving into a better position. My supervisor actually got demoted and a new one was brought in, which has helped tremendously.

3. Shit, I thought you quit already!
Weren't you going to move to Europe?
Don't you live in Rockingham or something? Yikes!

Why don't you come up here to the Triangle? I bet you could get a better job and more respect. Raleigh is growing like a kudzu vine and
it's almost a REAL city at this point. There are several colleges where you could get more education....just a suggestion...

I do know how much it sucks to work with jerks. Healthcare is full of 'em.

7. Nah back then I was only joking because I could tolerate the BS.
I went to NC State in the Triangle area so I was thinking about coming back.
