Are there any other women out there who DON'T have a shoe fetish?
I don't care much about shoes. I wear three different pairs of shoes regularly -- sneakers, Chuck Taylors, and my work shoes. I wear flip-flops in the summer, but I've had the same pair for the last several years. There are a few other pairs of shoes in my closet, but they pretty much just sit there.

Am I the only one? I feel so alone! :P

Don't feel alone. I have one pair of shoes that I wear to work and everywhere. One pair of sneakers and one pair of thongs. I go barefoot at home all the time. I can't wait to get home everyday and get my shoes OFF!

Even in the winter, I only wear socks around the house. Shoes of any kind are so confining!

3. Yes! Me too.
My feet feel so confined in shoes. I can never wait to take them off. I even slide my work shoes off at work, if I'm not busy, so I can wiggle my toes around.

7. me
I wear my seven-year-old Tevas all summer, except to work, where I wear the same pair of black slides all summer. In winter, I wear one of a couple of pairs of plain black flats/pumps to work and Merrells outside of work (and sometimes to work!). Shoes are too complicated and could potentially take up too much space.

21. I don't want to get started with the different shoe
for each outfit (hell, three different shoes for each outfit) thing. That's just way too complicated. Plus, I don't have the feet or the grace to walk around in heels for very long. Flats it is for me, even in an "office" setting.

but I have other things that could spend my money on when I have extra cash: skin care, books, music.

I'm not really a clothes horse either, as long as I have a few stylish pieces, I"m good to go.

I don't really think about them and don't intentionally go shopping for them, but let me pass by a shoe store and I'll more than likely buy something. Everything from high end dress shoes to cheap flip flops. The closet is full.

Edited on Sat Jul-21-07 08:24 AM by ThinkBlue1966
i have 3 pair right now: my 'work' shoes (black sneakers crusted with baking supplies)
my sneakers (black New Balance that i bought over a year ago)
and my work boots (which i wear rarely, and usually for outdoor chores)

I have hard-to-fit feet (women's size 10 1/2 - 11, E width, with little to no arch), so i detest shoe-shopping, and Oktoberain detests going with me... so, when i find something that fits, i run them into the ground.

The best i can do is to occasionally find a pr of men's black 'penny loafers'...

That's o.k., though... i wouldn't be caught ddead in anything that would 'require' pumps, or other traditionally girly dress shoes.

14. I never cared much about shoes
I never had a full length mirror so when I looked in the mirror, I never saw my feet so it is less ingrained into my physical self image than parts towards the top of my body. I also don't notice shoes much on other people unless they are rather odd because I don't look down too often when I am around other people.

15. My favorite shoes are my steel toed shoes
very comfortable for walking.

In the closet are 20 dusty pairs of heels that go with dresses I no longer wear. I used to be a dress up, curl your hair, put on makeup and earings, go downtown everyday type of gal.

Now I am in computers. I dress for comfort. 10 seconds is about all the time I will spend putting on makeup. Shoes are functional. They don't have to be ugly.

I am bewildered by Sex and the City- $500 shoes- makes me feel ill when I think of the homeless people that could feed.

hard to find shoes that don't hurt my feet

I violate my office's dress code every day with my shiny white NIKES
although I keep a pair of sandals in my desk drawer to be in code if needed.
My back problems, leg problems etc make most shoes an abomination.

My daughter makes up for me though

38. sneaks, Chucks & flip flops is about all I need
I loves mah flips! I have a dressy black pair in case I have to get fixed up.

I do have one nice black leather boot-like shoe with a high chunky heal, but I got them from a thrift store about 15 years ago.. they rock and I think they'll last forever.

and I have a little pair of dressy flats that my friend bought for me because he felt so sorry for my sad shoe collection.. He's *CraZy* about his shoes, he has so many pairs of boots. I used to have a few sexy pairs of boots too when I went clubbing all the time but I'm over that now.

I have one pair of nice dress shoes, but they are flats, to wear to interviews. And I may purchase something similar to those if I ever actually get a career-type job.

No boots for me, though. I've thought about getting a pair, and I still might, but I just don't know how often they would get any use.

I've been wanting another pair of Chucks, but not wanting to pay the ridiculous price for them. I used to be able to get a pair of Chucks for $15 when I was a kid. Now they are $40+.

Anyway, yeah. Where do you get the No Sweats?

I can never understand the endless fascination with shoes on "Sex and the City." I have several pairs of the Crocs flip-flops and live in them. When I have to go to a party I'm hard pressed to find something appropriate (Pakistani dinners - the women wear very fancy shoes from Pakistan and seem to have shoes in every conceivable color) - I can't find that much here that excites me enough to buy them.
