I may hurl a plutonium-laden object at Faux Sprots and Major League Baseball |
|
I've been looking forward all week to a rarity for we cable-deprived folks: a teevee doubleheader, with the first game at 12:55 p.m. (PDT) featuring the Dodgers and Mets as the Faux Saturday game, followed by the Giants and Milwaukee at 4:05 p.m. on the Giants' broadcast network.
But I just checked the teevee guide and the MLB schedule, and apparently the Giants-Brewers game has been moved up to 12:55 to accommodate Faux Sprots' lust for ratings during Barry Bonds Homermania.
HEADS WILL ROLL!!!11 :grr:

2. FOX has butchered the game. |
|
Both Kyle and I are huge Yankee fans, but more than that, we're baseball fans who demand intelligent representation of the game.
FOX had that goddamn talking baseball explaining what a "fastball" was.
Thanks FOX!
And fuck you Tim and Buck. I hate you both.
I wish NBC gets baseball back :(

They played a night game last night (and I just felt like being redundant), and it's not typical for Bonds, or any other almost 43-year-old, to play a day game after a night game.
Wouldn't it be a hoot on Faux if Bonds didn't start? :D
Edit: He's starting. Bruce Bochy, the Giants' manager, said last night Bonds would play in two of the three games in Milwaukee. Since it would make much more sense to start him Friday night and Sunday, I have to wonder if Bochy's lineup today wasn't "influenced" by MLB and Faux.

11. Adding insult to injury |

XM has the ESPN Radio broadcast for the Dodgers-Mets game. I don't even get to hear Vinnie, Charlie and Rick.
Mark my words — somebody's gonna pay for this. :grr:

13. I hate to say this, my friend, but didn't you kind of expect this? |
|
For the record, I think that sucks too, but MLB, like any business, will manipulate, maneuver, etc. to bring in the bucks.
The thing is, I don't even wanna SEE that home run. Bonds is, and always will be, tainted. :grr:

If I'd thought about it at all, it would've been something like, "New York at Los Angeles — the two largest media markets in the country." If anything, I would've thought Faux would bribe MLB to bump the Giants game to 1 p.m., then air the Dodgers-Mets game but cut in to Milwaukee when Bonds came up.
That'd seem even more logical if Faux wasn't sure if Bonds was gonna start, which typically he wouldn't in a day game following a night game. But he is, and I'd bet they had a hand in that, too.
