it's been a while since we did this. How are you today? :)

Me, I'm good. Spent my day cleaning my apartment and now I'm relaxing on the porch. Going to make sirloin tips for dinnah. It's nice outside. :)

36. According to the VIPR radar, I have
1 inch of space between the huge storm we just had, and the storm coming in.

How much time is that? Jeebus.

I also saw a spider the size of my hand today. flvegan does NOT dig spiders. Matter of fact, he's terrified of them.

Right now, I'm watching the BoSox school Chicago, 11-1, and researching a potential new car purchase.

42. Are you still thinking on that?
Two options here:

1. You can afford it, and it's a perfectly nice car. You'll like it. Get it.

2. There's absolutely nothing wrong with your old car a well-tipped detailer with a dog-hair grade vacuum can't fix.

So if you're going to get a new one, go get the one you're looking at. If you're going to be boring and practical and stuff, keep the one you've got.

Or

3. Get the danged mini-SUV thing so you can evac the dogs when the shit hits the fan. Which would be the best option in terms of keeping me off of tranquilizers during hurricane season, and people are giving them away right now like they do every time gas spikes (ie every f'n summer.)

43. Well
1. I know, but I'm a cheap-ass when it comes to spending on me;

2. I know, but getting up in miles and I don't want to have to worry about it.

3. Hell no. I COULD tow 750 lbs with the 'Speed if I wanted to. However, there's no evac in the future. I bought concrete block for a reason, and I have the flood situation covered. You think I bought this place for me? Silly.

I also found a local demo. She has 5k miles on her...Japan gets none of my money! Eeeek! I may go kick her tires tomorrow.

49. yeah, I know how that goes
Also, I've seen how you drive. Between your lead foot and evasive maneuvers necessitated by the braindead drivers down there, a car's going to take a little more wear and tear than it would if it were somewhere else being driven by somebody else.

Vitally important question here: what color is the one you're going to look at?

51. Oooh,
Upside: purty.

Downside: hot. And hard to keep clean

But sexy.

Honestly, I think yours is cuter than the new ones, but the white is boring and black is not, so that's a plus. What colors does it come in? I've seen silver (ugly) and white (really ugly on the newer model) is it that sorta electric blue? Because if it is, snatch up the black one, 'cause all the other options are fugly.

Got the house cleaned, got the broken bookcase hauled away, got new blinds up on the back door, got all the pictures rehung after painting adventure, and went on a MAJOR shopping spree buying new kitchen canisters, a chef's knife, a new purse, new gold earrings (impulse), and lots and lots of new clothes. Summer sales.....love 'em.

I have to be good now until I go visit LisaM in early August. Frugality is just so boring.

uh, and the job I hate with a blue-white passion...

and the fact we're living under the most corrupt corporate and government climate

and a myriad of other assorted day to day crises and ongoing heartbreaking disappointments.

46. Let's see.
Today we did the grocery shopping and when we got home I did my housework while husband did laundry. I made some more blueberry jam, sliced up a fresh pineapple and a fresh muskmelon. I made potatoes and green beans with homemade corn bread for dinner. I'm getting ready to make yogurt and call it a night after that.

Tomorrow, husband is going to make banana nut bread. I'm going to pick all the basil in the garden and make pesto and freeze it. Then I'm going to make two tomato sauces, one mushroom for an eggplant parmesan and the other meat for a lasagna, both of which I am making on Tuesday to feed about 15 or so people that night.

Glad your day is going well. :hi:

I noticed in one of the pics some time ago that Sniffa posted of one of your meal preps that you, too, have the mark, the same one I do, and probably most foodies have: the crescent moon shaped burn scar between your thumb and index finger. You've been marked and ID'd as a foodie! LOL

It's a fun and creative hobby. Glad you're enjoying it.

53. Not bad.
I think my cold is almost over (hopefully, Finnfan's will be better by tomorrow), went grocery shopping, had dinner (baked stuffed shells), my oldest boy is obsessing over Harry Potter (he wants to pull an all-nighter to finish the book) and my daughter's at a friend's Quinceañera tonight.

Work is a little busy and crazy right now, but we're now getting postpartum patients which is cool and my husband's schedule is about to finally let up and be normal again.

61. Pretty good. Hung out with my daughter for awhile today. We had
Thai for lunch, and talked, and laughed and giggled.

One of the things we talked about was school. She's going to community college right now, and then wants to transfer to a 4 year school. She was looking at the University of Washington, but her advisor suggested Seattle University, and the more she finds out about it, the more she is leaning that way. Me likee, because that's where I went to college!
