Because I thought it was a joke in answer to my rhetorical question.

Damn it, I knew when I wrote that, I'd end up with my foot firmly in my mouth. Which means I can't lick up my vodka properly.

It was by no means meant to be insensitve. I don't wish death on anyone and I always feel compassion for those they leave behind.
