SPOILER ALERT: Has J.K. Rowling indicated what she's going to do next?
Edited on Sun Jul-22-07 01:43 PM by Finnfan
Book 7 left quite a few non-essential loose ends. I'm wondering if Rowling is leaving open the possibility of expanding this universe beyond Harry Potter. For instance, could she have a book about George Weasley? Luna? The children?

Has anyone heard her address her future in writing?

1. Harry Potter and the Mid-Life Crisis, of course.

The books leave a magnificent psychological opening. Harry, as a man in his thirties or forties, is having all his accomplishments eclipsed by something he did when he was seventeen, which, natually, pisses him off. All sorts of fun and games could ensue. :P

2. That could be really funny if written as satire.

5. Yes, I actually just thought of it just now.
Rowling jokingly proposed the title once and I just randomly came up with what the plot could be. :P Or it could be a self-help book for people who were overachievers as youngsters and have struggled to best their teenage selves. :D

3. Hermione Granger and the Onset of Menopause?
Ron Weasely and the Attack of Male-Pattern Baldness?
Luna Lovegood and the Den of Opium?
Neville Longbottom and the Curse of Viagra?

6. Luna Lovegood and the Den of Opium sounds like a latter day spy thriller.
:P

4. JK Rowling has already said
that while she considers the Harry Potter storyline finished, she won't rule out returning to the Potterverse for a different story at some point. She said really she was as loathe to leave it as the rest of us. :-) Not surprising really.

7. I'd like to see a story from Draco's point of view....
And from Harry and Ginny's kids' point of view. I loved how much the oldest was like Fred and George, Albus like Harry and Lily like her Mum. It was a very cute little bit. I'd like to see a continuing saga of the kids of the Boy Who Lived. And maybe see if Dudley and the other Dursleys ever popped back up. Apparently they didn't hate Harry as much as they thought.
