So what you doin' today?
I'm calling around on cars for my Dad's business and later on I have homework. I'm trying to clean up the house a bit too while I'm at it, though who knows about that?

Anyhow, that's about it. You?

2. Cool.
I'm waiting on a dealership with a real promising looking car to open up. I'm kinda hoping they want too much for it, because it's about a 6 hr drive away, and I'll be the one stuck going to collect the thing.

Then again, I really don't have anything planned for next Saturday, and nothing Sunday until nighttime, so a long drive wouldn't quite be the end of the world.

3. I'm going to see Queens Of The Stone Age tonight
Before that though I'm heading out to check out yet another car that I've been looking at. This time it's the Nissan Altima.

6. My neighbors bought a Maxima and they love it.
Nissan makes decent cars.

I'm looking at Lincolns for my Dad's business. Used they go for pretty cheap, and they last almost forever and are cheap to repair.

13. I'm also looking at the Ford Fusion
The Lincoln MKZ is a twin of the car and it's supposed to be nicer. The Fusions drive really nicely.

8. Moving
And I'm not looking forward to it. Fortunately I don't have a whole lot of stuff, but there's nothing in this world I hate more than moving. It's 11:32 right now. I figure by one I'll manage to get off my butt and actually do it.

10. Oh, moving sucks.
Last year I lost my place on short notice, and had to box up and move everything my son and I owned across town in four days. That sucked.

9. I'm going to do housework
after I get done trolling the lounge.
Sorry about that homework. When I was in school I had a tough time settling down to do homework if the house was dirty. Maybe it was just avoidance, dishes* must* be* done* before opening books.

17. I went for a 4 hour hike in the Blue Hills this morning
Edited on Sun Jul-22-07 01:54 PM by Xipe Totec
From the Trailside Museum to the top of the Great Blue Hill, then along the Skyline to Wollcot Hill, Hemenway, Hancock, Tucker, North Boyce, and finally Buck Hill. Then back to the Trailside. About 7 miles.

I picked a cup of wild blueberries at the top of Buck hill, and brought them back for my wife.

33. Hah! You know where the blueberries are.
We used to pick them on Buck Hill every year. There's another hill with a big blueberry patch too but the name escapes me. We hiked in the Blue Hills when we didn't have the time to drive to NH.
Seen any rattlers up there? We did, on Great Blue and on Chickatawbut.

34. All I've seen is garter snakes and big fat toads
No rattlers. I've yet to see any since I left Texas.

I'll have to check out Chikatabut Hill; it's on the other end of the trail for me.

Maybe next week I'll park there and hike west.

(my wife said they were still not quite ripe. Next week will be better)

:hi:

28. Slipped off an anchored boat and my foot hit the prop.
Darn near severed the pinkie and sliced the neighboring toe badly. On the educational front though, I was able to point out to my daughters and their friends the tendons, bone, and internal workings of a toe. They were quite interested in the mechanics and not too squeamish.

Now the embarrassing part. I let my eldest daughter practice her toenail painting skills on me the day before. So, I had painted little alligators on my big toes and other colors on the remainder of them. *sigh* I tried to explain that I'm not weird, just a tolerant daddy.

If you've put your own stitches in, I'm in awe of you.

29. Ow, that sounds really painful.
I've sliced my hands and fingers up enough (woodshop accident, plus a few mishaps in the house and kitchen) that I know the drill, and waiting in the ER forever for four stitches sucks, so last time I cleaned it out, heated a needle up with a lighter and did it myself. For something that didn't bend super glue works fine, but it was on my index finger at the last bend so that would have split open and left a scar.
