Round Two of Wild Turkeys
These were shot at the Fossil Rim Nature Reserve. They are considered native species to the reserve and are completely wild albeit a bit more used to people.

This one would not move not matter how close I got. I don't know if this is male or female but it seemed to be sitting on eggs.

This one I do believe is the male that was walking close by foraging.

1. It's the other way around
The one sitting down is the male. You can tell by his wattle (*snicker*). The female is the plainer one.

Great pics, btw! :)

2. So she had him under control, uh?
She seemed rather happy prancing around the whole time then.

7. Flying like a sci-fi movie....
That is funny. Flying is not their strong point for sure but at least they are better than chickens.

6. I'm right there with you, but after watching them
in the wild, it's getting harder to imagine them on my table.

10. Those are the beautifullest unpretty birds I've ever seen.

The colors/patterns/textures are unreal. Wow.

BTW, anybody know what the waddle's actual function is? Just curious.

11. Thanks DA
I couldn't tell you what that wattle is for, possibly nothing more than an attention getter for the females. I honestly don't know.

13. My dear Maestro!
Well, they're not exactly beautiful in my eyes....

But these pictures are wonderful!

Great detail, and the colors......wow...

How interesting it is that they let you come up so close...

Perhaps they know they're protected?

Thank you for these, as always!
