Ok I'm getting a little tired of this crap if people like this have a problem with Harry Potter talking about witchcraft and wizard, spells and the Occult then lets take a minute to talk about the most disturbing book of all The Holy Bible.....The Bible talks alot about the working craft of Christ and God, talks about perversion and hate, love and lust, lies and deception, rape and murder... hmmmmm if so many want the "CRAFT" books out of schools lets talk about the one book that talks about it all then shall we.....

3. I love how people like this feel the desperate need to

insert their beliefs into everyone else's lives. If she doesn't want her children to read the Harry Potter books, fine. But leave everyone else's kids alone. Arg!

Oh, and does she realize that the Harry Potter books don't even scratch the surface of this particular genre of fiction? :shrug:

4. A few years back we got my nephew a Potter book

Unknowingly his freak parents are some kind of weird Christians. A week or so later I asked nephew how the book was going. He said, "mom and dad made me burn it in the back yard."

They had my nephew take the book out back, as his 2 brothers and parents watched, and strike the lighter and burn the evil book of witches.

Totally freaked out when I heard this I called my sister-in-law and said "wtf.. don't you want your son interested in reading?" She said he has a list of books that are suitable. After some debate I had to let it go because he is not my son.

I kept in touch with nephew through the years to help him keep his mind opened so he wasn't mechanized. I think he will be ok. I saw him the other day and he said he read them all since and was going to get the last one when all the hoopla was over.

What got me about the whole thing was the "ritualistic" burning of the book they went through. All they needed to add were chants to complete the ritual.
