We just "tried out" a new babysitter. She is a teenage girl in our neighborhood who came recommended -- and who took one of those babysiting courses at a local hospital. I liked the fact that her father dropped her off and insisted on meeting us. And I liked her attitude.
Most important: Our son liked her. She spent her time with him playing games and reading to him -- not watching TV.
Yes! I may be able to go to movies with my wife again!
This might not seem like a big deal to some of you. But others here will know where I am coming from.

Can't find a good one to save our lives. We have to resort to going out on alternate nights. It SUCKS.

I can use the kid's Dad or my sister in a pinch, but it would be nice to have a young kid with more free time on call.
