I've been awake for 27 hours now |
|
this insomnia's gonna kill me. Or cost me my job. I can't even focus, let alone think straight.
A stop at a minor emergency clinic on the way home is needed. I can't keep going like this. :(

I've fought my battles with insomnia and know what that feels like. That stop at the clinic sounds like a good idea.
Be careful if you're driving, huh?

3. lizzie! You need a little help. |
|
Please do what you need to -- 27 hours awake sounds like torture!
Good luck getting through the day, but don't let yourself grind to a halt. If it gets bad enough, your health is more important than anything.

A stop at the doctor is DEFINITELY needed, sweetie. You shouldn't even be at work. You shouldn't be driving. What's going on?
:(

I'm sorry I missed you over the weekend...I'd been home all day -- except for taking Bonehead to the mall for the HP thingie. Which was when you called.

Can you call the doc and get them to phone in a prescription? Then you can pick it up on the way home and get some sleep.
The sooner, the better.

and more whining...
I can't think about sleeping until at least 9:00 tonight. If I crash when I get home, I'm sure to wake up before I get a whole night's sleep in. Besides, I have a client coming over (she will NOT postpone...) at 7:30.
I think it's a couple of things - age and the related hormone insanity and depression. Lelapin's been going through a very difficult time and I feel helpless. Not to mention the stress of work and all. I've always struggled with depression and I see the edge of the pit again.
I won't do anything to hurt myself. Besides, I'd never, ever do anything to hurt my family and my daughter.
I'm tired... :(

I go through bouts with insomnia quite often. It sucks. It just sucks worse the longer it lasts. If you have a way to get to a doc for proper meds, thats what I'd do.
ASAP... before you start getting scatty in the head.

That's not good.
If you have a creative outlet... let it rip.
You'll be suprised at what you have done once you get some rest and look back on it :)
As long as all that you end up doing is good. It can also go the other way to where instead of suprised, it is more of a "shocked" feeling :P

I hope you realize that by 7:30 you will not have a fully functioning brain, so try not to make any jokes. :)
One trick you might try before tonight is to doze off while sitting up. You won't go into a deep sleep, but it might take the edge off. Maybe, anyway, it works for me, sometimes. It at least takes away that desperate frustration that builds up.
Hope you feel better. Hope Lelapin feels better, too.
Yeah, I'm a born advice-giver. And worse, I never know what the heck I'm talking about! I'm driving my oldest daughter crazy with advice, and I can't stop! She asked me the other day how anyone could even find so much to say about things, the way I do. In other words, "Geeze, Dad, do you ever shut up?"
So ignore my advice, and just take this.

16. How about some nice melatonin? |
|
I first tried the stuff back when the dosages were like 20 mg., and detested the draggy feeling it gave me the next day. But I went through some hellacious insomnia a while back and found that it comes in 3 mg now. I've finally been getting good sleep almost every night.

22. I usually take it an hour before bedtime |
|
But I can feel it starting to work within 20 minutes. I take it every night, whether I'm sleepy or not. Not only will I usually fall asleep, but I'll STAY asleep all night. It's so damned delightful to go to bed at 9:30 and wake up refreshed at 5! I've been missing out for years.

20. Ask the doc about a mild antidepressant. |
|
The hormonal changes in mature women :D can really mess up the serotonin levels.
Melatonin is great for a good night's sleep.
Be well!

a doctor's visit for an anti-depressant. I doubt the doc-in-a-box would prescribe anything.

30. Once while on deployment, I went for 4 days straight with no sleep... |
|
...Toward the end of that 4th day, I couldn't tell if I was dreaming or awake. Kinda scary actually to think about it after the fact.
