You've seen the scattered stories by now of techies from Best Buy's Geek Squad abusing their position to snoop on customers, but insiders say the problem goes way beyond an occasional Peeping Tom. Former Squad members say technicians routinely browse photos and other personal information on PCs left for sevice and make copies of music and movies stored on them. Says one former Geeker:Glad the ex-"geeks" are squawking. I'm amazed how the local media says this company is any good; all the people I know say their service is shit (and that I ought to go work for them, at which point I start up three of my own tirades about small businesses, how big chains kill off small businesses, and why big chains deserve good workers...) Even some of the blue shirt Best Buy employees know more than the GS folks, so I have to wonder what their hiring policy is...
