Think I'll warm up a nice pumpernickel roll, spread some soft cream cheese on it, and wash it down with some ice cold orange juice.
How's that sound?

1. I just bought some Pumpernickel bread |
|
I was going to recreate one of my favorite sandwiches from a local pub. It's called a Veggie Vice.
Fried potato slices, melted swiss cheese, tomato, fresh green peppers, thousand island dressing all toasted up on pumpernickel bread.
Yummmmmmm
I don't have the tomatoes yet though, so I'll have to wait.

2. Oh man...that sounds nice. |

I have a Wegmans (Some may know it as Chase-Pitkin) near me. I have been buying those tomatoes on the vine, and they are excellent.
I bake a potato, melt some cheese over it, and then slice up 2 of those tomatoes and drop them on top at room temperature. Delicious!
Thanks for sharing your sandwich recipe...I may try that! :hi:

That's where it comes from. I think they may only be in this area though.

I don't think we do, but the next time I travel, I will look for one and remember this discussion. Is it a chain of pubs?

7. There are a few around |
|
In different spots around the Rochester area. I don't think it goes much further though. I couldn't find their website. I'm pretty sure they are all owned by the same person/company.

9. Thanks for the info BNL... |
|
next time I am up in that part of the state, I may stop if I see one. I'm always looking for a good sandwich LOL.
If you ever go to Ithaca, go to College Town and try "Rulloff's"...they have very good and unusual food.
Have a great day!
