Our newest addition -- meet Gypsy
Edited on Tue Jul-24-07 01:21 PM by GenDem

She found me, a week ago, at a festival held in my town. She was wandering the crowded street, looking for anyone that cared enough to swoop her up and out of homelessness.
She's around 12 - 14 weeks old and was full of fleas. She is now adjusting to a house with two very active Schipperkes and our other fur baby, Mother.

4. My daughter named her
It does fit. Poor little thing. She did know just how to get herself adopted. I've never seen a friendlier kitten. When I popped her into my car to take her home, she stretched out on my lap and never fussed a bit. She rides in the car like a dog.

8. My daughter has a cat like that. You'd swear she's a dog.
She greets my daughter at the door and flops down on her back to get her belly rubbed. She's good in the car too.

12. Thank you, stuntcat
She has lovely black smudges on the bottom of her paws -- like she's walked through the cinders.

She has fit in like she has always lived here. I'm glad she found me.

13. My young cat was a rescue, found her in a old house screaming for her mama.
She was very tame.

Your new kitty is beautiful.

Thank you for taking her in.

The unplanned pets are the best.

14. My two boys were also found in a house, abandoned by a mother who couldn't
get back into the house when the construction crew put on the front door. They were two weeks old and precious as can be.

17. My kitten was about a month old, and thin.
I think something got her mother in the field behind the house which is good hunting grounds for mice.

You could hear the kitten a mile away.

She is a big cat now, bigger then all the male cats.

She is the queen of the house.

19. She is so social
I can't imagine that she could be a product of a feral female. My guess is that some idiot kicked her to the curb.

As soon as she's old enough we will have her spayed.

furry friends. It really suck to live so much longer than those you care about. I hope things go well for you both.

21. So often it is some kind of divine meet-up
Was definitely meant to be.

Mr Gen was just commenting on how easily we have all made the adjustment.

I had a tiger when I was a kid that looked a lot like her.

22. it is totally
the love-of-my-life, my big grey Tonka (the middle cat in my pic down there) was deserted on my porch one night by this girl who took off and we never saw her again. Now I don't know what I'd do without him, I can't stand to think of anyone else caring for him :loveya: It was something stronger than luck or even fate that made her pick me to dump him with.

25. My Sierra found me as well.
One weekend I was talking with my friend Nicole on the phone (who lived two hours away) and I told her that I was looking for a Siamese or similar kitty. That same week, a beautiful Tonkinese cat was abandoned near her office (or maybe she got separated from her owner) and Nicole brought her too me that next weekend. I named her Sierra and we have been inseparable ever since. She is very calm, affectionate, and a serious lap kitty, and she compliments my personality perfectly. She calms me down after I've had a bad day. If there is a such thing as a feline soulmate, then Sierra is mine. But the timing of Nicole finding her was just incredible, she found Sierra just when I needed her. In some sort of cosmic way, it's like Sierra was meant to find me. And based on your post, I know you can relate. :hi:

Here's a picture of her (along with Nevada in the backgorund): :loveya:

29. ROFL
Nevada wasn't in jail, she just likes to play in the laundry basket to "help out" when I'm doing laundry. And don't let Sierra's looks fool you, she is a total sweetheart! When I took the picture, she was probably just taking a moment to contemplate her miserable existence...poor cat... ;-)

"prison guard" :spray: Funny!

34. Brenda is a BIG girl!
She's awesome! :hi:

Gypsy had a ravenous appetite the first couple of days -- I think because she had missed a few meals. Her little stomach was distending every time she ate, I think because it was so empty, but now she's settling in and eating normally.
