Phila. area DUers: Sally Star ? |
|
After reading about Captain Kangaroo, I thought about another children's TV host I watched everyday in the 60's who showed cartoons (Popeye is the only one I remember) in the afternoons and she wore a cowgirl outfit. Does anyone remember Sally Star? Was she only in the Philadelphia area? What else did she do besides show Popeye cartoons?

I even met Pixanne at someone's birthday party back then. I live in a different state now, and I don't think about the old Philadelphia years much anymore.

And Gene London too.
Chief Halftown just died about 8 months ago.

6. How could I forget Gene London |

Thanks for the reminder Judge. Chief Halftown lived in Berks county by Boyertown.
How 'bout Dr. Shock from the Saturday night horror show. He was the Grand Marshall in the Boyertown Halloween Parade back in the early 70's.

3. I lived near her for a while. |

Used to see her around every so often. Nice lady, but was *awfully* fond of the old corn squeezins.
