I pulled my back sometime during the night.
It was stiff this morning, so I stretched it at the gym today before exercising, but now it's nearly impossible to walk. I'm lying on my bed right now, the pillows propped up behind me. I have taken an Aleve, but frankly I don't know what else to do at the moment. The pain is like a huge knot in the lower left of my back near one of my "dimples."

I have friends coming over tonight. I have dishwasher to load, manuscripts to send, and clothes to wash. I really need a working back. Help!

3. Holy shit, man, you just healed my back!
I got up to go get my ice pack to fill it with hot water, and my back feels loads better. I think the heat of the pillows and the lumbar support has helped... but I'm sure you did something, too, Jesus. What was it? ;)

Thank you!

13. Why it hurts is important
If you believe the pain to be strictly muscular, heat will certainly help, however if it is disc-related, ("slipped disc" - sciatica type pain) ICE will help much more. Was your back sore when you got out of bed this morning?
