How easy is it for you to expunge bad movie SEQUELS from memory? |
|
We've all felt the pangs when a beloved film series "jumps the shark." My question is: Are you able to convince yourself into believing that a particularly bad sequel doesn't exist, thereby leaving the broader narrative unsullied? I haven't a problem, myself. Consider the following:
Alien 3--Hated it. Ain't canon. As far as I'm concerned, Ripley, Hicks, Newt, and Bishop are still in hibernation, hostages to future horrors.
Return of the Jedi--Hated it. Ain't canon. As far as I'm concerned, Luke is still coping with his father's revelation, Leia is hatching a plot to rescue her beloved, and Vader is devising a coup against the Emperor.
Halloween 2--Hated it. Ain't canon. Loomis saved Laurie, leaving the Shape to terrorize some other hapless denizen of Haddonfield.
How about it?

2. There hasn't been a Rocky film since the fourth one. |
|
There just hasn't.
Good enough answer for you? :-)
