Today is my sister's 44th birthday
She went in for surgery this morning to have a tumor removed from one of her major organs and examined with a biopsy.

Our Mom, who was at the hospital, called me out here on the west coast and let me know it was *NOT* pre-cancerous, and my sister is in no danger.

I have never dreaded a call so much in my life, and knew it was good news when I heard Mom's voice, just by her tone.

This has been hanging over us for two weeks, and what a relief we now know.

Fuck cancer. It lost this round for a change.

Happy Birthday to my big sister, who deserves many more years among us!  :loveya:

5. Send her a hug for me, Z-W.
Thank goodness for the "clean" report. Cancer lost a round with my tough old dad (87) in January. But cancer has mom (85) in its grips now, and it doesn't look good for her.

I agree: Fuck cancer.

12. I'm glad for you and your sister ZW. I got word tonight that cancer
hasn't lost a round for a friend of mine tonight.

Knowing first hand the ravages of cancer, I am thrilled for you and your family, but feeling a little
depressed for my friend and his this evening.

13. We're 1-1 this month
A member of our extended family died last week of liver and pancreatic cancer. He was a great person, and Nini and I will miss him.

Best thoughts for your friend.
