A local bookstore wants to interview me tomorrow.
For a part-time local bookstore gig. I haven't held a steady job in more than five years. I don't have to work, but I thought it would be good for me, as well as give Mr. Writer and I a bit more pocket change for our savings. They know I'm applying for my PhD and am writing at the moment. They also require their employees to perform community service work once a month and to read one book per month.

I'm also going to have to learn how to make coffee drinks. Oh MY. I don't even drink coffee!

Oh well. We'll see how this goes. If not, I have options.

~Writer~

4. Yeah I'm a little nervous about this, actually.
I've been on my own schedule for the last several years (other than grad. school). I don't think I'm mature enough for the responsibility. :P

5. Require you to do community service? WTF?!
I am sorry, but they are only buying your time for 8 hours a day (or whatever your p/t hours would be). The rest ain't any of their business.

11. At least it is paid time
I still do not like the idea of being told that I have to do something other than work by a boss. Then again, I ain't applying for this job! And despite my complaints, best of luck to you!

12. My dear Writer!
Oh, that sounds like fun!

I hope your interview goes well, sweetie...

I think that doing community service once a month, and reading one book per month are well within your capabilities!

Keep us informed, OK?

14. Good luck!
And be sure to ask if you can read DU and post in the Lounge while on duty.

If they say no, then just say, "I'm sorry, it's clear I'm too lascivious for this job."
