Man, it's boring at work today.
The bosses aren't here today, no problems (knock on wood) and so far I've played a few online games of "Jeopardy" (that is NOT the most challenging online game)...and of course, I'm here. :-)

I hope things at work aren't too stressful for you guys.

Very drama-ish, though... which is... hmm... not frustrating, really... more... oh I can't find the word. Hahaha... funny in a sad kind of way, maybe?

Ego! Politics! INTERESTINGNESS! :P

18. So what are you waiting for?
Just tell them it's already dark in Switzerland, and that you're in solidarity with it. If they won't let you go, sue them for political oppression!

Otherwise, just dance! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CM6y_fM9QSE

15. Not stressful, just
well... I got a new bit of work today, I have to add a new feature to a program one of my esteemed coworkers wrote. As of leaving work, after about three hours working on it, I was just about ready to start adding the new feature. It had taken all that time to rewrite the thing from the crock of shit my coworker produced into something I'd actually be prepared to put my name against.

As for the coworker? He since got a promotion. :eyes: At least he isn't writing any more code, I suppose.

16. That's pretty damned sucky, billy.
And sadly so true in a lot of workplaces. Sorry you're dealing with it.

Well, I guess that's the best way to look at it...said co-worker won't be writing any more code.

22. Dunno
I thought the Peter principle was where you got promoted for being very good at your job, and repeatedly promoted until you found your level of incompetence.

The Dilbert principle is where you promote the people who are already incompetent, leaving the competent ones behind (after all, they're actually useful where they are).

23. Ahahaha... I totally thought that was the peter principle...
too hard to fire the incompetent, too tricky to do a lateral move... so just promote 'em to get 'em out of there!

And I will continue to be bored at work until I get my needed training on Tuesday and then FINALLY on Wednesday I will be able to start learning my job and not just watch people work.

25. Today, wasn't too bad
The big audit, which was somewhat stressful, was yesterday. Today, there was nothing really urgent.
Next week, my boss and the head of the company (who is my boss's boss) will not be there. In some ways, I think that will mean that it will be lower stress. In other ways, I am afraid that I will be forced to deal with things that I am not sure that I am able to do. Regardless, I won't just be screwing off. If it is low stress and I have extra time, I am going to take initiative and start on some projects of my own to show them when they come back.
