Whatever happened to the Dixie Chicks?
Someone told me today that if any entertainers speak out against Bush, "they're gonna get smashed like the Dixie Chicks."

Should I drop what I'm doing and get into show business?

2. They are still around
They are receiving an award

The Dixie Chicks are receiving the 2004 Patrick Lippert Award for their enduring commitment to preserving and protecting freedom of expression. Following the controversy that surrounded them last March, the Dixie Chicks partnered with Rock the Vote in July 2003 and launched Chicks Rock, Chicks Vote an initiative to engage and empower young women to become active in the political process by voting.

From the website above it looks like one is pregnant so they are releasing some old favorites right now.

3. Well, I saw them in DC in October or so, and it was the final...
stop of their world tour. They had been at it for months and months, so I think they're resting and planning their next move. And one is pregnant with twins, Marty, is her name, I think. By the way, they were fabulous (to borrow a GWB term) and said lots and lots of political stuff and even made a crack about Rush Limbaugh. Very good stuff. Also saw the Eagles that night. Great for the middle aged among us.

4. Yeah they better be careful...

They might have number one albums and sell out all of their tours....wouldn't that be a shame.

The attempted snubbing of the Dixie Chicks only to have them sell out all of their tours is one of the most laughable failures of the right wing in the last few years.
