I don't have a shot in hell at the job for which I am interviewing
I just realized belatedly that someone else in the pool of applicants has already been doing that exact job. So there is no way in hell for my boss to justify hiring ANYONE else, no matter how well they do on the interview or how good their credentials are anyway. Or I don't see it at least. This person has been doing this job for all of two months or so. I applied for her job but didn't even get an interview for that one. The boss there told me he was only interested in people who already had Master's degrees. I am working on mine but won't finish for months yet. Now, he might change his mind about that so I might have a chance but something tells me I am out of luck once again.

1. I feel your pain
I applied for a position recently, made the first cut, but ran smack into someone with ten more years of experience.

6. I guess the competition is tough everywhere
I am just nervous as hell. There is a possibility that I do really well in the interview. I intend to try at least.

Never give up. I have to remember that too.

7. Chances are, probably not
Not that it would help. My bosses are pretty much straight arrows.

3. Look forward to the next round of jobs. Concentrate of finishing your
Master's. There is always opportunity in the future.

4. I've been in that spot
where you're the one they're interviewing just to make the selection process look legit...

9. I don't know if that's the case here or not
I've suspected that I have gotten interviews out of courtesy in the past but can't prove it of course.

5. Me neither
It sucks graduating from college into a shitty economy. There's also too much nepotism.

10. I haven't come across nepotism yet
There is also a lot of competition for everything these days.

12. Job hunting is a drag because of situations like this.
But there will be other times when a job that is right for you comes along. It just takes so long! ;-)
