Wooo! My sister won her case and got her kids back!
A while back I posted this:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=6618694

Well my sister and her lawyer managed to get a hearing today, and my sis won!

She's on her way to go pick the boys up in an hour. The judge decided that the allegations of neglect were unfounded, and ordered the kids returned immediately. Total victory! *twirls*

My sister is getting a protective order placed against that woman immediately, so that she can't come anywhere near her or the kids for a while. Then she's leaving the state to go start a new life where she and the kids will never be traumatized by this insanity again. I'm kinda sad that my sister feels like the only way she and the kids will be safe is to leave for good, but at least they *will* be safe.

4. Safe as long as "grandma" doesn't know where they are....
I'm kinda sad that my sister feels like the only way she and the kids will be safe is to leave for good, but at least they *will* be safe.

Too bad there isn't some way to change their names, social security numbers, et als in order to keep wealthy grandma from tracking them down and starting the whole thing over again in another state or suing for "grandparents visitation rights."

Sending your sister good luck wishes.

9. I remember this sad story.
I'm glad that the boys will be back with their mother but it's sad that they still have a crazy grandmother rather than one who could help them remember and know their father. The grandmother now is losing the rest of her son thanks to her own actions.

I hope that your sister and the kids can build a good life together.

11. That is wonderful news, thanks for sharing it
I know she wants to start over and put it behind her but a part of me wishes she'd sue that woman for all kinds of slander and harassment, because of what she's been through...the lady shouldn't get away with it. But I know she wants to move on. Congrats, i know it's a load off of your mind as well.

12. She also needs to institute a civil suit against the woman
for the lawyer's fees, time lost from work, pain and suffering...and just about any injury lawyer should be glad to take it on a contingency basis.
