Did anyone else think he was sort of a jerk?

Sirius is a very beloved person. And there are those who will flame you so bad, your ass will sting like my grandmother just spanked you with a switch from a peach tree. :evilgrin:

He had a serious case of arrested development, he was cruel to Kreacher and Snape, and wasn't exactly a nice person.
He had more in common with Snape than he'd probably want to admit, actually...

and had every right to be how he was. He was good to Harry, and in OOTP, he had every right to be too. He wasn't in Azkahban, but he was in a sort of prison.

Even Harry was eventually forced to admit it.
Sirius was flawed, just like the rest of JKR's characters.

Harry was not James and instead of trying to be a father figure he was trying to be a friend.
I realize that Sirius was just trying to hold onto memories of how things were before Azkaban and the deaths of James and Lily, but I don't think that he ever realized that harry was a different person than James.
