Not zupreem pellets, but real crab legs! :9

:woohoo:

I have given my girl freshly steamed blue crabs many times. She loves to tear open the shell and pick out the meat. She also really loves shrimp steamed with Old Bay.

1. So I bought some crab legs...
The parrot was terrified by the leg.

I ate a bunch of them in front of her since she'll usually eat what I eat and even get angry if she can't eat it. But she won't try them. :(

Mind you, the leg probably did look imposing...

Maybe next time. If not, the usual pellets and nutraberries are good. :9

3. Time will tell.
They are technically edible for parrot consumption, but will mine want to try it...

Tomorrow. It's dark out and she's asleep for the night.

5. Nope.
Never really needed to, which is great. (she'd otherwise gnaw through the fabric...)

9. She's freaked out by those
This same parrot that has terrified macaws that are 5x her size gets freaked out by the most bizarre things...

7. did you try gining just a bit of the meat?
(does that sound naughty?)

My bird will eat just about anthing but HATES any kind of insect - maybe the crab leg was to "buggy"

On the other hand I have seen other parrots that loved meal worms so...???

8. I tried that too.
She nibbled a couple times, but became apathetic.

Crab just isn't her thing.

She really wanted the pretzel crackers I'd snacked on a few days ago. The bag was bright yellow and orange too... I found a small piece lacking salt and gave it to her. She was lukewarm to it, and ultimately dropped it... but I may as well buy bags of zupreem parrot food and eat that with her, if she's going to tantrum every time she wants to eat my food and not hers. I don't blame her, but trying to tell her high sodium and chocolate would kill her hasn't gotten very far and I'm not going to make her sick. (most 'people foods' are okay, but certain types like salt, avocado, chocolate, etc are poison.)

Meal worms, hmm... I wouldn't dare eat those but I'll let her have a go on one...
