It's out on DVD. I haven't seen it, but I was wondering about putting it in my Netflix queue.
Is it worth seeing? I've sort of noticed a bit of a homoerotic subtext, but really, that can carry a movie only so far...

I thought it was definitely worth seeing. Visually, it was really well-done.
Despite the reviews, however, there's very very little homoeroticism in it. Evidently, to many reviewers, spray-painted six-packs are gay.

2. I'm just going by what I've seen of the trailers. |

Which is not the most reliable way to judge a film.
I'll add it to my Netflix queue.
Thanks.

3. Get it. How good does it need to be ... |

... to go on the NetFix list?
(On the other hand, I had Borat on my NetFix list, which was pretty close to a "negative-number-star" movie. Hmmm, maybe I should add Ishtar to my list, it could have improved with age)
I haven't seen it yet, but I'm getting 300 to see the video work. I think I know how it ends, but I won't spoil it here.
Homoerotic? Dunno. I'm guessing it'll be slanted by thuggish Persiaphobes.

If you've ever wondered what a disciplined band of Spartan hoplites is capable of doing in battle, it's frankly quite stunning. The film drags a bit after the initial battle scenes, but it's still a fun flick.
