Should I buy the 300 DvD?

I have not seen this movie as we rarely go to the theater anymore. That said I did see the latest Harry Potter movie and like it very much. Before HP it was the Da Vinci Code. I like movies like the (300) but I hesitate buying it, for fear that it is one long fight with no dialog. For those of you who have seen the movie, is it worth buying the DvD and which one (DvD) would you purchase the regular or the two disc special edition?

1. It's a beautiful movie to look at.

The computer generated scenery is artistic and wonderful to look at. The action sequences are elaborately choreographed and engrossing but appallingly violent.

300 has a plot but the onus of the film is on the action and visuals so according to your post it sounds as though you may be disappointed.

3. It was loathed by many a DUer when it came out

I haven't seen it either, so I would suggest renting it from Netflix first (a blue company-and the give you a free two week trial if you don't subscribe).
A close friend of mine is a popular comic book creator who was also a good friend of Frank Miller's for years. Frank always said he hated both the Democrats and republicans-especially Reagan. Then after 9/11 Frank lost his mind and became madly anti-Muslim, wishing that every last one could be wiped off the face of the earth. I've heard that "300" reflects that new attitude of his. Sad, because he originally wrote it as an allegory for man's inner battle with the dark and light parts of his own nature.

No one needs 300 DVDs. You should save your money.
