| Quick exit: Williams ousted down under |

After thwarting upset bids in the first two rounds, Venus Williams finally caved. Williams was upset 6-4, 7-6 by Lisa Raymond on Saturday in the third round of the Australian Open. Williams saved one match point with a backhand crosscourt winner, but put a forehand return wide on the next point to end the match in 1 hour, 29 minutes.
No real link yet--I have to say I'm happy--it was ridiculous seeding her number three!!!!!!!!!!

since she has never won the Australian Open and has only made it to the final once. Anyway it was the first real tournament she has played in 6 months.
