The saga continues, but staff tell me they're being the assholes, and I need to just hold my head up and do my work. Apparently, driving to their offices and slapping them would be a boundaries violation on my part. The staff person I spoke to says there are other ways of doing that.

You know you're right. Those other people are being petty and childish and vindictive, which is awful behavior in lay people and downright embarrassing behavior for clergy.
