How often do you get headaches? |
|
I've got a nasty one brewing. I get at least 5 a week that require tylenol or excedrin. Can't I just chop this useless appendage off?

2. that doesn't sound right at all, you need to see a doctor or chiropractor |
|
I get a sinus headache a few times a year and a Sudafed takes care of it, a caffeine withdrawal headache a couple times a year (and a cup of coffee fixes it)
so I get headaches MAYBE 10 times a year. you need to see a medical practitioner ASAP

3. Only the rare sinus type anymore |
|
Way back when - between 2nd grade or so and sr year in high school - I got the tension kind almost every week. Would start after lunch on Fridays - and only on Fridays. I called it the Friday Pain. A week after HS graduation I went off to college. I didn't think about it for about 4-5 weeks, but then I suddenly noticed that I hadn't had a headache since leaving home. And other than the sinus type ( or an alcohol type in my party days ) haven't had one in 40 years, even when under tremendous stress.

17. Migraines are horrible |
|
In addition to the Friday Pain I've had 2 migraines - April, 1962 and August 1963. Just 2 may sound trivial but migraines are so bad, even after all this time I remember just when/where I was when I had them. Both in conjuction with muggy, muggy weather and with that eye thing. Each time I almost fell down some stairs because I couldn't see. I just hope there are good, safe meds that help folks who suffer from migraines.

18. If I take the meds right at onset - all is good |

If I even delay for a few minutes - not so good.

I had a headache for 18 months. My doctor wouldn't give me anything for it, aspirin, ibuprofen, nothing helped. It finally went away on it's own. I was miserable.

15. My head almost always hurts a little bit every day |
|
Nothing major usually, just a little achy. It is probably due to chronic allergy or sinus problems. Only Claritin-D helps (and usually relieves the achy head) but I don't like how it makes me feel so I just deal with it as it is.
Full-blown nasty headaches- once or twice a month in winter, more frequent in summer. Lack of sleep and/or alcohol seem to be the triggers but not always. I've had a severe headache after one beer or glass of wine but sometimes I am okay after two or three. I have come to the conclusion that sleepless nights are the real trigger. I almost always get a bad headache if I have had a completely sleepless night.

When mine was on the high side (before I got on a med for it) I was having lots of inexplicable headaches. Once I got on the blood pressure med, not one.

Actually the neurologist gave me a BP med that also treats chronic headaches. The BP is ok and the headaches are actually a bit better on the medication. I had an MRI and a neuro eval last year and she diagnosed high BP, migraines and possible cluster headaches. The MRI was clean and that was good. Of course, I'll be making monthly payments to the neurologist and for the MRI for at least another 18 months. Yay for American health care!! (no, I'm not bitter, why do you ask? :-p )

Always my right eye. A couple Ultram (tramadol) usually kills it within fifteen minutes or so.

But honestly - they are freaking blinding. So it's only then, but it brings me straight down. Big time.
