Dark Shadows

I loved this show when I was a teenager. My wife and I rented the first disc in the box set just for fun. We ended up watching everything on it.
Needless to say we are hooked again. Note: If anyone else wants to re-visit this show be aware that the box set ( at least the one my video store
has) begins with episode 201. This is when Barnabas arrives. The early episodes are presented in a synopsis. If there is set available that begins
with episode 1 please let me know. "This has been a Dan Curtis production!"

but the first episode is the one where Willie opens up Barnabas' coffin.

3. I was a kid

and I LOVED that show, but it set off a few weeks of horrible nightmares.

The vampires didn't scare me at all ... but Jeremiah the ghost just scared the crap outta me.

5. Dark Shadows came on a 3 PM, and that was when we got out of school.

The only shows I saw were in the summers and holidays.

I got to see the shows later when they came out on tape.

The show was fun to watch, I liked it when the actors would screw up and forget their lines.

The show was popular in its day.

Odd bit of trivia: supposedly, the real house that served as the "Dark Shadows" house in the credits (I can't recall it exactly) is right down the street from the Bush house in Kennebunkport. (I've seen it!)

9. We were total Dark Shadows freaks when I was a kid...

every week we would write and stage a different Dark Shadows play in the garage.
And the rest of the time, I was always trying different hair products on my bangs in order to get them to go in that distinctive sawtooth way that Barnabas wore his bangs :)
